We’re not going to even try and define the word ‘luck’ – it’s such a small word with a huge meaning. Suffice to say that some people are just born lucky, no other explanation is needed and we all have one pal that fits that bill. They are the one who always win the big prize at the charity raffle or the star prize at the Christmas party and they bag that Mediterranean cruise. Yes, you know exactly who we are talking about. How do they continually do it we ask? And we just accept that they must have inherited a lucky gene.
Everyone tells them they have the luck of the Irish which seemingly goes back to the Gold rush in America. Most of the lucky miners to hit it rich were Irish or Irish American. The Irish swear by the four-leaf clover and the English believe in the lucky horse shoe – and remember to hold it up and not down or that luck will run out.
Different countries have different lucky symbols from Elephants in India, dreamcatchers in North American culture, Maneki-Neko (the Japanese cat figures) and Carp scales in Poland. Everyone loves ladybirds as they are harmless to humans and to crops so they are deemed lucky too.
Then you have that lucky person who goes to a car boot sale, buys a nondescript item for 50 pence and then is miraculously seen on some antiques programme and told that their little purchase is really an amazing treasure which is worth a fortune. Oh how we wish that person was us!
Lucky people are not adverse to taking risks and low and behold they reap the benefits. No pain no gain mantra comes to mind. They are usually out going, socially confident beings who display positive body language. Also their mindset is usually optimistic, enthusiastic and they have an ultra bright outlook on life. They think lucky thoughts and by and large they are lucky.
So do most bingo players have lucky thoughts and lucky charms? You bet your life they do! Who knows what dutifully, meticulously placed charms are around their computer stations while they play online bingo. It may be perceived by the casual onlooker as being a bit daft but it means the world to the player. And will it bring them luck? Why sure of course it will if they remain and think positively. They might even be wearing their lucky clothes that they used to pass their driving test with – whatever makes them happy.
One tip that is important is that whenever you play you should have a good attitude and be in a good frame of mind so that you don’t make rash decisions. Always treat your time playing bingo as fun time and not to try to make a profit. Then if you win money, it’s like you’re getting a bonus on top of all the fun that you are having. You can’t allow yourself to be lulled into unrealistic pipedreams and tell yourself that you have been playing for ages and it’s your turn to win. An attitude like that will only lead to disappointment.
Remember to always spend your money wisely and hopefully next time it will be you that is bragging to your friend about your big win – now that’s a thought!
